A practical introduction to OpenAlex for reproducible research-on-research and responsible bibliometric analysis.
This 90-minute workshop combines teaching, live coding, and a mini-hackathon. It introduces OpenAlex as an open metadata source and covers responsible API queries, entity validation, stable identifiers, data preparation, visualisation, and reproducible reporting. The workshop was taught as part of the UK Reproducibility Network on 8 July 2026 and at the International Conference on Social Computing on 4 September 2026.
